I included a 7 and 8 zipper for the years to come LOL.
Open all images (except the 7 and 8) from the ZIP in PSP.
Open the font and minimize.
You'll see it in your text tool now.
Save often.
Let's get started. Good luck.....
This tutorial can only be done if you have Animation Shop (AS).
If you are a new PSP user and you only have PSP X without AS,
you
can't do the tut. PSP X doesn't have AS in the package anymore.
Open one of the templates. There are 2 in the ZIP.
Shift-D to duplicate. Close the original.
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 10 Pixels.
Selections > Invert.
Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel > Color white.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.
Repeat the drop shadow but this time Vert. and Horiz. at - 2.
Selections > Select none.
Click
and look for the opened BleuplateSpecial. It's in the ZIP.
Selection Floating >
Size 48 > Stroke 0,0 >
B for Bold > Align Center > Anti-alias checked or Sharp.
Click in the middle of your canvas and type "Happy New Year"
With (or PSP 10) and your right mouse button
pushed
down you can move the text to the middle.
Put the text on the spot where yellow turns into brown.
Notice! Don't put it to low because otherwise your zippers won't fit.
Effects > 3-D effects > Inner bevel > Color white.
Notice!!! Different settings.
Repeat the drop shadow at 2.
Selections > Select none.
Open the MD-Zipper-2.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
With move into place.
Look at the example below to
see what the position has to be.
Repeat drop shadow at 2.
Open the MD-Zipper-0.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
With move into place.
Repeat drop shadow at 2.
Layers > Duplicate.
With move into place.
Open the MD-Zipper-6.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
The six doesn't have the little slider.
With move into place.
Repeat drop shadow at 2.
Lock the layer with the six.
Open the MD-Zipper-5.psp and only copy the five.
As you can see the slider is added separately.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
With move exactly in the same spot
the six
is (unlock for a moment if you need to check).
Repeat drop shadow at 2.
Now copy the little slider.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Repeat drop shadow at 2.
Put the slider at the end of the 5 (see screenshot).
Shift-D to duplicate your image. Safe the original as a back-up because
if anything goes wrong (let's hope not), you can open your
back-up and don't have to start from scratch. Close the original.
Save your copy as work.psp.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Copy this merged layer.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new image.
Safe this file as animation.psp.
Make small for now (- minus in the screens right upper corner).
Go back to your merged work.psp.
Edit > Undo.
Zoom in your work.
With your free hand selection tool select (feather 0) a small piece of the five.
Take about 3 to 4 teeth (the outer ring) of your zipper every time. At the curves it is better to take 3 and on the straight parts 4 teeth.
With click on your 5 so you have the 5 layer selected.
Be careful not to move your five. Not even a little bit.
If you do move... undo and click again.
Click delete.
Selections > Select none.
Now move your slider to the beginning of the shortened five.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Copy your merged layer.
Go to your animation.psp.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
This image now has 2 layers.
Each step we will add one in this animation.psp.
Go back to your work.psp you just merged.
Edit > Undo.
Select the next part of the five. Not to much at the same time.
With click your 5 so you have that layer selected.
Be careful not to move your five. Not even a little bit.
If you do move... undo and click again.
Click delete.
Selections > Select none.
Move your slider so it will connect with the 5 again.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Copy your merged layer.
Go to your animation.psp.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
This image now has 3 layers.
Go back to your work.psp you just merged.
Edit > Undo.
Again remove a small part of your five.
Do this until your five is almost gone.
Don't forget to remove your selection every time because if you don't, you
will only copy a small part of your layer and not the whole merged layer.
No need to rotate the slider.
Leave it in the same position every time.
Merge your image every time.
Copy and paste the layer in your animation.psp.
Until now you have copied every step and
pasted into your animation.psp right?
You don't have to select the last piece (last one above).
Just lock your 5 layer for the last piece.
Merge this position visible as well.
Copy and paste in your animation.psp.
So..... that was the five.
In the meanwhile I have 9 layers in my animaton.psp.
You might have 8 - 9 or 10 layers. This is not so important.
Unlock the layer with the six.
From this point we are going to work in the opposite direction.
Now select the largest piece of the 6 and delete.
Move the slider (that is still there from the five) to the end (see screenshot).
Merge > Copy > Paste at your animation.psp.
Undo and again undo to get your 6 back.
Repeat this step until all of the 6 is back. Don't forget
to copy every step and paste in to your animation.psp.
Look at the screenshots to get an idea.
And at last the image where the six is back.
No I have 17 layers in my animation.psp.
Maybe you have between 15 and 20.
Doesn't matter how much exactly.
Save your animation.psp after this last step too.
PSP 7 users can just save as.
PSP 8 - 9 and 10 users......
Because Animation Shop doesn't recognize *.pspimage you have to save as *.PSP.
This can be done in 2 different ways:
Use this one for all early 8 and 9 versions.
Animation Shop doesn't recognize *.pspimage from
PSP 8 and 9 so we save as a PSP 7 or 6 file. Like this:
Save as > Click options and save as a *.psp 6 or 7 compatible file.
Use this one for the latest versions.
The latest PSP 9 and all PSP X versions have the option to
directly save as PSP for Animation Shop.
Look in the pull down menu and select Animation Shop (*psp).
Now open your animation.psp in Animation Shop (AS) .
Click Ctrl-A to select all your frames.
Animation > Properties for frame > Set to 20.
Zoom out and in again.
So now you see you have multiple frames.
Scroll all the way to the right and click on your last frame.
If all is well you have a blue border on only the last
frame and no longer around all frames (see screenshot).
We are going to give the last frame a time of 250.
Your Zipper Animation is done.
