This tutorial can only be done if you have Animation Shop (AS).
If you are a new PSP user and you only have PSP X without AS,
you can't do the tut. PSP X doesn't have AS in the package anymore.
Open one of the templates. There are 3 in the ZIP.
Two with a text and one blanc to create your own wish.
If you made a choice and/or created your wish, make sure all
layers are merged. So with that clear we now are going to animate.
Layers > Duplicate.
Repeat this step until you have 9 identical layers.
In your Layer Pallet > Right click the layers and rename 1 till 9.
Make sure the bottom layer (1) is selected (= bleu).
Lock the layers 2 en others all the way up to 9.
Zoom in your template (+ plus key on your number keyboard).
Take your freehand selection tool.
Point to point > Add > Feather 0 > Anti-alias checked.
PSP 7 users don't have the add option, you need to
hold the Ctrl-key down while you select the other 3 lights.
With your freehand selection tool select the first lights at the 4 corners.
This has to be done very accurate so that is why it is essential to zoom in.
If you selected all 4 corner lights:
Adjust > Hue and saturation > Hue/saturation.
Hue 60 and Saturation 50.
Selections > Select none.
Unlock and select layer 2 (= bleu).
Now select at all four corners the second light.
This time they are all red. A coincidence.
Repeat the hue and saturation with the same settings.
Selections > Select none.
Unlock and select layer 3 (= bleu).
Now select at all four corners the third light.
Repeat the hue and saturation with the same settings.
Selections > Select none.
Unlock and select layer 4 (= bleu).
Now select at all four corners the fourth light.
No screenshot. We all know how to count.
Repeat the hue and saturation with the same settings.
Selections > Select none.
Unlock and select layer 5 (= bleu).
Now select at all four corners the fifth light.
No screenshot. We all know how to count.
Repeat the hue and saturation with the same settings.
Selections > Select none.
!!!NOTICE!!!!
There are no more lights at the short sides.
At the short sides, start again with the first light.
On the long sides you keep counting up to 9.
Work this way on all layers the way up.
Don't forget to select your layers after unlocking them (= bleu).
If all lights (9 layers) are done, save your image as Xmas-ani.psp.
PSP 7 users can just save as.
PSP 8 - 9 and 10 users......
Because Animation Shop doesn't recognize *.pspimage you have to save as *.PSP.
This can be done in 2 different ways:
Use this one for all early 8 and 9 versions.
Animation Shop doesn't recognize *.pspimage from
PSP 8 and 9 so we save as a PSP 7 or 6 file. Like this:
Save as > Click options and save as a *.psp 6 or 7 compatible file.
Use this one for the latest versions.
The latest PSP 9 and all PSP X versions have the option to
directly save as PSP for Animation Shop.
Look in the pull down menu and select Animation Shop (*psp).
Now open Animation Shop (AS) .
Open your saved image. You have 9 frames.
Click Ctrl-A to select all 9 frames.
Your Christmas Animation is done.
