Christmas Tree Ornament with Shapes
A tutorial by Mar ©2002

You only need PSP.
If you don't have the shapes, you can download here.
Save often!

Let's begin. Good luck!

Open new image 250 X 350 > Transparent.
Shapes  > Cone.
Draw the cone on your image. Convert to raster.
Effects 3D > Drop shadow H. 2 and V. 2.

Duplicate this layer.
Image >
Resize.
Put 75% in the box, all layers
unchecked!

Repeat 3 times, you must have 5 layers.

Shapes, pick the necklace.
Make a festoon, using the necklace on your bottom cone.
Convert to raster. Shuffle below your next cone.

Duplicate and move below your third.
Image >
Resize. It's still 75%. Apply.
Effects >
Sharpen > Sharpen.
Repeat these steps, so each of your cones has a festoon.
Your top festoon is to big, so let's adjust that.

Take the lasso tool select the piece that points out
and hit delete. Selections >
None.
Repeat on the other side as well. Save.
Save again with a different name,
comes in handy to use again or to colorize.
Layers merge visible.

New raster layer.

Shapes  > Drop. Draw a little ball.
Convert to raster. Copy.....
Colors
> Colorize > 150 and 255. Repeat 2 times.
Zoom in.

Paste the ball, that you did copy as a new image.
Repeat colorize, this time 100 and 255.
Move this ball to any place.

Paste once again as a new image.
Colorize this one also but now 200 and 255.

Repeat once again but now colorize, 255 and 255.

You must have 4 different colors now. Copy each one.
Paste upon your tree. You can make as many colors as you like
 Experiment!

Open new image 50 X 50
Zoom in.
Shapes  > Star3. Draw it on your blanc image.
Convert to raster.
Selections >

Fill with color #FEFFA9. Leave selection.
Effects >
Texture effects > Sculpture.

Copy and paste on your tree.
Layers >

on the little noose settings:

Now you can use your ornament in an image.
Great..........You're done!!!!

Suggestions......
1. Instead of the 'drop' use some buttons.
 2.  Colorize your festoon and pull it to one side
-examples below!
3. Use tubes..... but most of all your imagination.
