Open one of the images from the ZIP or
use one of
your own Christmas images with the size 400 X 260.
You can make your image 400 X 260 with the crop tool or,
select all in one of my images and paste yours into selection.
I used the Xmas Gooses from the ZIP.
Image > Add borders >
5 Pixels > Symmetric.
With your color picker
take a color from the image. I used #303883.
Write down this color number and name it color one.
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 5 pixels.
Selections > Invert.
Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel > White.
Selections > None.
Image >
Add borders > Symmetric
unchecked.
Put left and right to 0 and top and bottom to 60.
Use your color picker to choose a color from your image.
I used #efcd33.
Write down this color number as your second color.
With your magic wand
(feather 0) select the top
border.
Effects > Reflection-effects > Pattern.
Apply.
Now select
the bottom 60 pixels border.
Effects > Reflection-effects > Pattern.
Image > Add borders >
5 Pixels > Symmetric.
Remember to check Symmetric again because we
need the border on all sides. With your Color Picker
choose a color from your image. I used
#8f1914.
With your magic wand
(feather 0) select the new 5 pixel
border.
Repeat the inner bevel as before.
Image > Add borders > Symmetric
unchecked.
Put left and right to 15 and top and bottom to 0.
Use the same color that you wrote down as your second color.
I used
#efcd33 at that point.
With your magic wand select one of the side
borders.
Keep your Shift key down to select the second side border.
Effects > Reflection-effects > Pattern.
Notice.... the pattern will be different with every new image.
Play a little with the possibilities until you have a nice pattern.
Selections > Select none.
Image > Add borders >
5 Pixels > Symmetric.
Remember to check Symmetric again because we need a border
all around.
Take the color you wrote down as your first color.
In my case that was
#303883.
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 5 pixels.
Selections > Invert.
Repeat the inner bevel as before.
Copy your image and paste it as a new image.
This is to have a spare image to copy later if needed.
Effects > Reflection-effects > Pattern.
This pattern is just an indication. Versions 8+ can click the
dice to see what pattern they like best for their used image.
Play with this pattern un till you have a nice result.
If all went well you still have the image in your PC's
memory.
If you did something else in the meantime, copy the spare
image again. Go back to your image with the pattern.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Image > Change size > 90% > All layers
unchecked.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.
Repeat the drop shadow but this time Vert. and Horiz. at -
8.
Layers > Merge > Merge all layers flatten.
Now we are going to add 3 borders of 5 pixels (Symmetric)
with
3 colors from
our image. Use the colors you used before or pick 3 new with the
picker tool.
With the first 5 pixel border:
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 5 pixels.
Selections > Invert.
Repeat the inner bevel as before.
The next two border can be selected with the magic wand.
Repeat the inner bevel after each border.
Finish your frame with some nice Christmas tubes.
I have added some in a tube image in the ZIP for you.
Your Unequal Xmas Frame is done.
I hope you like this tutorial.
