get started. Good luck.....

This tutorial is done in PSP 9.

Open one of the Madonna images from the ZIP.

Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Symmetric > Black.

Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Symmetric > Yellow.

With your magic wand (feather 0) select the yellow border.

Open the MD-M-pattern.jpg.

Foreground to pattern.
Look for the "MD-M-pattern.jpg" pattern.
Texture unchecked (blue hand).

Fill the selection with the pattern.

Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Symmetric > Black.

Repeat the above steps until you have 5 gold
and black border
s. Finish with a black border.

If all is well you must have this:

Image > Add borders > 15 Pixels > Symmetric > #570809.

With your magic wand select the red border.

Effects > Texture effects > Blinds > Black.

Effects > Geometric effects > Skew > Color #d8a870.
Make sure 'Vertical' is checked.

Selections > None.

With your magic wand select the two gold-yellow corners.
After you have selected the first corner, hold the shift-key
down to select the second corner too (see screenshot below).

Effects > Texture effects > Blinds > Black.

Now select the other two gold-yellow pieces.

Repeat the blinds but this time check Horizontal.

If all went well you must have this now:

Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Symmetric > Black.

Repeat the 5 gold and black borders like you did before.
Again, finish with a black border.

Image > Add borders > 25 Pixels > Symmetric > #d8a870.

Repeat the blinds but uncheck Horizontal again.

Effects > Geometric effects > Skew > Color #570809.
Make sure 'Vertical' is checked.

Selections > None.

Select the two dark red corners.
After you have selected the first corner, hold the shift-key
down to select the second corner too (see screenshot below).

Repeat the blinds. Check Horizontal again.

Now select the other two dark red pieces.
Repeat the blinds but uncheck Horizontal.

Selections > None.

Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Symmetric > Black.

Repeat the 5 gold and black borders like you did before.
Again, finish with a black border.

Selections > None.

Ok..... now for a little magic.

Open one of the black vector corners.
The property of all vectors are the same.
Like a text that you fill with a pattern after typing.

Shift-D to duplicate and close the original.
Always handy if you want to use the corner in the future.

Pull your window larger. See screenshot.

With your Object Selection tool select all. Pull a square
around the corner like you would do with the selection tool.

You will see red blocs around the black corner.

Double-click on a black part of the corner.
A new (vector) window opens.
Start with checking Anti-alias first.
Now click on the black fill and choose pattern.
If all is well the gold pattern for this tutorial will be
your first choice. If not.... go find and select it.
Choose this pattern. See screenshot.

Click OK and apply.

Layer > Convert to raster layer.

With this method you can manipulate every
vector and fill it with a solid color or with a pattern.

Copy the corner and go back to your frame.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

Move down to one of the frames corners at the bottom.

Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.

Layers > Duplicate.
Image
> Mirror.

Layers > Duplicate.
Image
>Flip.

Layers > Duplicate.
Image
> Mirror.

Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.

Your Madonna Frame is done.
