What you need:
PSP 8. Download a 30 day
trial here. A Christmas Card. Scan one or search the internet. This site has 52 pages with pretty cards. Hallmark has some beauties too.
Let's get started.....

Look at the size of the card that you are going
to use and decide what size would fit best.
If your card is Landscape:
Open a new image 400 X 350 or 400 X 300 > Transparent.
When your card is Portrait:
Open a new image 350 X 400 or 300 X 400 > Transparent.
With the color picker get 2 colors from your image.
Fill your image with one color from your card.
Select > All.
Selections > Modify > Contract 30 pixels.
Fill the selection with the second color you picked.
Selections > Modify > Contract 30 pixels.
Copy the Gold pattern and paste in PSP.
Your foreground color to pattern and look for the gold.
Fill the selection with gold or silver.
If you want silver > Fill with gold first:
Colorize at 0 - 0.
If all went well you now have something like this:
Select > All.
Selections > Modify > Contract 30 pixels.
Selections >
Invert.
Effects > Artistic effects > Enamel.
Color #1F4F11 or another color from your image.
With the color picker:
Click somewhere in your image to get a matching one.
Effects > Edges > Enhance more.
Effects > Reflection effects > Kaleidoscope.
Effects > 3D effects > Inner bevel.
Selections >
Invert.
Click delete to remove the middle part.
Keep selected.
Layer > New raster layer .
Selections > Modify >
Expand 5 pixels.
Open the Christmas Card you want to frame and copy.
Paste into selection.
Move this layer below your frame layer.
Select the top layer, your frame (= blue).
Selections > Modify > Contract 2 pixels.
Click delete to remove this part.
Selections > None.
Effects > 3D effects > Drop shadow.
Repeat but V. and H. at - 2.
Your 'Frame a Wish' is done.
Use it in a stationery script and send to your friends.
