Let's get started. Good luck.....
This tutorial is done in PSP 9.
Open a new image 285 X 210 >
Transparent.
Foreground to pattern and look for the
MD-FireplacePattern.jpg.
Texture unchecked (= blue hand).
Fill the image with the
pattern.
Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel >
Color white.
Image > Canvas size 450 X 400 > Placement
bottom.
Open the MD-Wall.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
In your Layer Palette move this layer beneath your
fire place layer.
Effects > Texture effects > Blinds >
Color
#754931.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Open the MD-Fireplace-1.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
over the brick fire place pattern.
Make sure the bottom is at the edge.
Open the MD-Fireplace-2.psp and
copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
left
of your fire place on the brick wall.
Open the MD-Fireplace-3.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
right of your fire place on the brick wall.
If all went well you now have this:
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Open the MD-Firewood.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the wood all the way down.
For a good effect make sure the bottom of the
wood falls of your screen. That is how I planned it.
Layers > New raster layer.
Click a couple of times above the wood
with your picture tube tool (size
25).
Do this until you have a nice burning fire.
Notice......... don't cover all the wood.
You need to see some after you are done.
Open the MD-Fireplace-4.psp and
copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
mantelpiece on your brick wall.
Open the MD-Fireplace-5.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
to the beginning of your mantelpiece.
Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Mirror.
Now see if your mantelpiece is in the middle.
If not, the decoration won't be at the other side of mantelpiece.
So if necessary move to the left or right.
Open the MD-Fireplace-6.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
on
your mantelpiece.
Layers > Duplicate. Repeat another 2 times.
You now have 4 rings. Put them as on the screenshot.
Open the 4 Christmas stockings and copy them (one at the
time).
Paste them one by one and hang them on the rings.
If all went well you now have this:
Open the two paintings.
Copy, paste and hang them on the wall.
In de ZIP are also a candle holder and a wreath.
Decorate your fire place as you like best.
Use your imagination.
If you are satisfied:
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
With your magic wand
select the red border.
Repeat the inner bevel and the drop shadow at 2 and at - 2.
Advanced PSP-ers can animate the fire place.
Like this:
Duplicate the layer 2 times. 3 Layers in total.
On each layer put some more flames with your tubes tool.
Do this 3 times different. Save your work as *.psp image.
Open the file in AS. My frame speed is 25.
Your Christmas Fire Place is done.
