3D New Years Card
(PSP all versions)

What you need:
Eye Candy 3.1 (free) downloa
d here.
 ZIP with materials download here.
If you don't have the shapes I used, get them download here.
 Save Verjaarsfeest.jsl in your PSP folder Shapes (7) or Preset Shapes (8).
Open  MD-Gold.BMP in PSP the moment you need it.


Open  MD-NY-bg.jpg (ZIP).

Go to shapes and choose the champagne bottle.


Draw the bottle on your background.

Layer palette > Convert to raster.

Foreground color to #E0A502 background black.

In shapes choose Ellipse.
Retain style unchecked. Line width 2,00.


Draw an ellipse as label.
Make sure you stay next to the highlight (blue hand).

Convert to raster.

Toggle your colors.
Foreground color locked.

With text tool choose a straight font.

I used Arial Black.
Type 2004 size 10 or 12.

Convert to raster.

Move  in to the middle of your label.

Lock your background layer .
Merge visible.
Unlock your background again.

Selection tool   rectangle (feather 0).
Select the upper part of the cork (see screenshot).

Hit delete.

Select a big part of your bottle.

Adjust > Brightness and contrast.

Selections > Select none.

Toggle your color palette again.

Background color (yellow) locked.

Draw a horizontal ellipse over your bottle.
Pull opacity back to 30%.

Open MD-NY-top.psp (ZIP) and copy.

Paste as a new layer.

With  put in place.

Lock your background layer.
Merge visible layers.
Unlock your background again.

In your shapes look for the champagne glass.

Draw your glass.
Size about the bottle bottom on to the champagne.

Convert to raster.

Duplicate.

Rotate > Free rotation 35,00 degrees to the left.

Move the glasses against each other.

Lock your background.
Merge visible layers.
Unlock your background.

Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 3.1 > Perspective Shadow.

Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 3.1 > Drop Shadow.

Open the two MD-bubbles and copy one by one.
The big bubbles on top of the bottle.
Paste the small bubbles twice 2 and place in the glasses.

In shapes choose Vuurwerk 3 and after that 1.
Draw each of them on your card.


Convert to raster.

Lock your background.
Merge visible layers.
Unlock your background.

Background color white and foreground to #628C8B.

With choose the font Christmas Card (ZIP).
Minimize the font in your taskbar and you will see it in your text tool.
These settings:

Type your first word 'Happy'.

In PSP 7 convert to raster first.

Effects > Texture effects > Sculpture > color #5B8883.
Pattern white.
In PSP 8
+ confirm converting.

Effects > 3D effects > Drop shadow.

Repeat these steps for the words, 2004 or New Year.

With   place over the fireworks.

Foreground color to #925C6A type your name.

In sculpture change color to #925C6A.

Repeat the drop shadow.

Merge visible layers.

If all went well you have this:

Resize to 75% > All layers unchecked.

Open de MD-Goud-1.bmp from de Zip.

Background color to pattern, find your gold.

Selections > All.
Selections > Float.
Selections > Modify > Expand 5 pixels.

New layer.

Fill your selection with gold.

Move this layer below your card layer.

Merge visible.

Click with deform   on your card.
You see the 8 nodes.
Hold shift and pull the middle node bottom left.

Move   your card to the left of your canvas.

Layers > New layer.

Background color to #5B8883.
Foreground gold pattern.

In shapes choose Triangle.
Retain style unchecked. Line size 4,00.
Create as vector unchecked.


Draw a triangle.

Move this layer below your card layer.

Merge visible layers and add a drop shadow as before.

Background color to #9B5E66.
Foreground color gold pattern.

In shapes choose the Pentagon.

New layer.
Draw a Pentagon the size of your card.

Like this, if it's upside-down, image > Flip.
Move Pentagon (envelope) to the bottom.

Add same drop shadow.

Move this layer below your card layer.

Merge visible layers.

Your 3D New Years Card is done.
Put in a script or stationery and send to your friends.
