Let's get started. Good luck.....
This tutorial can only be done if you have Animation Shop (AS).
If you are a new PSP user and you only have PSP X without AS,
you can't do the tut. PSP X doesn't have AS in the package anymore.
Open a new image 450 X 400 > Transparent.
Fill the image with a background of your choice.
The pattern I used for this tut is in the ZIP.
Because by now everybody knows how to make a envelope (see
my previous card tutorials), I have prepared an envelope for you.
Open the MD-Envelope.psp (or make your own) and copy.
Go back to your image with the background.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move the envelope up to the left.
Open the MD-Pattern-card6.psp and copy.
Go back to your card and paste as a new layer.
With pull the block out to the left and the right.
So..... the base for your present is there already.
Select the rectangle selection tool and draw a selection
a bit larger as top of the present box (see screenshot below).
Layers > New raster layer.
You still have the block on your PC's memory.
If not..... copy it again.
Edit > Paste > Paste into selection.
Effects > Texture effects > Blinds > Color #b21b3a.
Selections > Select none.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.
Lock your background for now.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Unlock your background.
Open the MD-Mouse.psp and copy.
I have added pieces for a Christmoose in the ZIP too.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
With move the mouse on the box lid.
Repeat the drop shadow like before.
Lock your background for now.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Unlock your background.
If all went well you have this now.
Draw a selection like on the screenshot below.
Fill the selection with #c1b65d.
Repeat the drop shadow like before.
Repeat the blinds like before.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 10 Pixels.
Fill the selection with #c1b65d.
Repeat the drop shadow like before.
Background to #ae1736 and foreground locked.
Click
and look for the opened Comic Sans MS. It's in the ZIP.
Size 20 > Stroke 0,0 >
B for Bold > Anti-alias checked or Sharp.
Type "Happy or Merry".
In your Layer Pallet convert to raster (all versions).
Now type "Christmouse".
In your Layer Pallet convert to raster.
Place the text in position on your card.
Repeat the drop shadow like before.
Lock your background for now.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Unlock your background.
Move the card all the way to the left until the point of the
envelope is out of sight (look at the screenshot below).
If you move your card back to the middle is should fit.
If it doesn't:
Image > Canvas size 475 X 400. Refill your background.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
In your Layer Pallet duplicate this layer 2 times.
You have 3 layers and the top layer is selected (=bleu).
Lock the bottom two layers for now.
Open the MD-Mouse-eyes2.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move the little shut eyes over the mouse's eyes.
Make sure the right eye fits in the cavity of the eyebrow.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Lock this layer and open the middle layer.
In your Layer Pallet select the middle layer (=bleu).
Open the MD-Mouse-eyes1.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Put the eyes in place.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Now unlock all layers.
De layers must be in the in the right order.
The top layer must have the eyes almost closed.
The middle layer must have the eyes closed half.
In the bottom layer the eyes must be open.
Save your card as a PSP file (card6.psp).
PSP 7 users can just save as.
PSP 8 - 9 and 10 users......
Because Animation Shop doesn't recognize *.pspimage you have to save as *.PSP.
This can be done in 2 different ways:
Use this one for all early 8 and 9 versions.
Animation Shop doesn't recognize *.pspimage from
PSP 8 and 9 so we save as a PSP 7 or 6 file. Like this:
Save as > Click options and save as a *.psp 6 or 7 compatible file.
Use this one for the latest versions.
The latest PSP 9 and all PSP X versions have the option to
directly save as PSP for Animation Shop.
Look in the pull down menu and select Animation Shop (*psp).
Now open Animation Shop (AS) .
Open your saved image. You have 3 frames.
In your first frame the eyes are wide open.
Zoom your animation out.
We are going to give the frames a timeline.
Click on your first frame.
There must be a bleu border around it.
Animation > Properties for frame > Set to 150.
If you want the eyes open longer before the mouse
blinks, put your frame time at 200 in stead of 150.
Now click the second frame.
There must be a bleu border around it.
Animation > Properties for frame > Set to 5.
Now click the third frame.
There must be a bleu border around it.
Your Christmouse card is done.
