PSP

Materials:  Download here.

Let's
get started. Good luck.....

Open a new image  300 X 350 and fill with #e9e2ee.

Your selection tool to rounded Rectangle > Replace > Feather 0 > Anti-Alias checked.

Draw a selection from the left top (almost in the corner) and
pull it beyond the edge of your image at the bottom.
It works best if you stretch your image (with your mouse) beyond the
image borders until you see the little diamonds like on the screen below.

When done, you have this:

Selections > Invert.

Click delete to remove the edges.

Selections > Select all.
Selections > Float.
Selections > Defloat (sounds silly but it's right).

Selection tool to rectangle.

Hold the Crtl-key down and select the bottom part.
See screenshot (the red line).

This is the selection you have left:

Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 Pixels.

Foreground to pattern and  look for the MD-Xmasgold.jpg.
Texture unchecked (= bleu hand).

Fill the selection with the gold pattern.

Selections > Modify > Contract with 15 Pixels.

Adjust > Brightness and Contrast.

Now again > Draw a rectangle selection.
Take a good look at the example below. Don't make it to high.

Fill the selection with the gold pattern.

Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.

Selections > Select none.

With your freehand selection tool  draw
a triangle like in the screen below.

Layers > New raster layer.

Fill the selection with #e9e2ee.

Selections > Select none.

Layers > Duplicate.

Image > Mirror.

With put into place. Zoom in to see if the edges fit.

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Image > Canvas size > 400 X 450 > Top left (= bleu hand).

So.............., the hard part is done LOL.

Open a new image 400 X 300 > Transparent.
Fill the image with the gold pattern.

Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 Pixels.

Now fill the selection with #e9e2ee.
PSP 7 users might have to add a layer first > Fill and merge visible.

Selections > Modify > Contract with 55 Pixels.

Fill the selection with the gold pattern.

Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 Pixels.

Now fill the selection with #e9e2ee.
Keep your selection active.

Layers > New raster layer.

Open the MD-Xmasimage.psp and copy.

Go back to your card.
Edit > Paste > Paste into selection.

Put the opacity of this layer to 70.

Selections > Select none.

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Open the MD-Sleigh.psp and copy.
Another Christmas tube can be used as well.
Take a look at my Christmas tubes here.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

Move the sleigh (or other tube) like on the screenshot below.

Make sure your tube is not to much on the edge. You are going to
give it a perspective shadow and the has to fit on the card. If your are
not sure.... Do the shadow effect before you put the tube in place.

Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 3.1 > Perspective Shadow.

Repeat the effect but this time with these settings:

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Copy your card and go back to the image with your envelope.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

Adjust > Resize > 85% > Smart size.
Notice...... Change all layers must be unchecked.

Move the card in place.

Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen.

Background to the gold pattern.

Click and look for the opened Mr Sandsfort. It's in the ZIP.
Size 26 > Stroke 0,0 > B for Bold > Anti-alias checked or Sharp.

Type "Happy Holidays" (the 2 H's in capitals).

In your Layer Pallet convert to raster (all versions).

Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.

Move your text on top of the gold border (see examples).

Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen.

Now type your name at size 18.

Place it like in the screenshot.

Repeat the conversion, the drop shadow and sharpen.

Put your card on a matching background and save as JPG.

Your Christmas Card 4 is done.
