What you need:
PSP. Download a 30
day trial here.
Materials: Download here.
Open all images from the ZIP in PSP.
Open the font and minimize.
You'll see it in your text tool now.
Save often.
Let's get started. Good luck.....
Open a new image 310 X 200 and fill with #fffdee.
Open the MD-applique-envelope-bg.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move the envelope flap up against the edge of the image.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.
Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Flip.
With push the point down like on the screenshot below.
Put the opacity for this layer to 30.
In your Layer Pallet move this layer one level down.
Lock your top (Raster 2) layer.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Unlock the top layer.
Image > Canvas size > 400 X 350 > Center (= bleu hand).
Move the envelope a little up to the left like on the screenshot.
Move the flap back into place until it fits again.
Minimize to your taskbar (click the minus).
Open the MD-applique-card-bg.psp.
Shift-D to duplicate.
Don't close the original yet. You need it later.
At the duplicate.
With your freehand selection tool select a triangle like below.
Fill the selection with #1f5734.
** PSP 7 users have to add a new raster layer
firstand after the filling merge visible.
Selections > Modify
> Contract with 3 Pixels.
Now fill your selection with #fffdee.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 Pixels.
Layers > New raster layer.
Go to your original MD-applique-card-bg.psp and copy.
Back to your card.
Edit > Paste > Paste into selection.
Put the opacity for this layer at 50.
If all went well you have this now:
Selections > Select none.
Open the MD-Xmasapplique.psp copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move the appliqué over the corner like on the screenshot below.
Repeat the drop shadow like before.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Now copy the card and go back to your image with the envelope.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move your card a little down.
Move the layer one level down beneath the flap of your envelope.
It has to look like this:
If you are satisfied:
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Open the MD-Xmasapplique-2.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Put this application on your envelope.
Repeat the drop shadow like before.
Foreground locked and background to #fffdee.
Click
and look for the opened Mr Lackboughs. It's in the ZIP.
Size 48 > Stroke 0,0 >
B for Bold > Anti-alias checked or smooth.
You can use any Christmas wish you want, but a wish that starts
with
an S is the nicest because it matches with the shape of the appliqué.
Think what wishes start with an S.
For instance....
Special, Super, Sensational of Splendid and so on.
My wish is Season Greetings.
So my first word is "Seasons" at size 48.
Apply.
In your Layer Pallet convert to raster (PSP 7, 8, 9 and 10).
Repeat the drop shadow like before.
Move the word like on the screenshot below.
Notice the S.
Now type "Greetings:
Adjust the size until the word fits below "Season".
I used size 30 for my second word.
Convert to raster and repeat the drop shadow like before.
Put your card on a matching background and save as JPG.
Your Appliqué Card is done.
