Let's get started. Good luck.....
This tutorial is done in PSP 9.
Open a new image 400
X
300 and fill with a nice Xmas pattern. Or........ open one of the bases from the ZIP.
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 15 pixels.
Selections > Invert.
Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel > White.
Selections > None.
Open of the 3 Santa Clauses and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move Santa left and down so his feet are at the
bevel edge.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.
Foreground locked and background to
#800000.
Click
and look for the opened AmerType Md BT. It's in the ZIP.
Size 72 > Stroke 0,0 >
B for Bold > I for Italic > Anti-alias checked or Sharp.
Type 007.
If you use the Santa number 3, you have to reduce the size
to a smaller font to it will fit next to the Santa's
telescope.
Layers > Convert to raster.
Repeat the inner bevel and drop shadow as before.
Open a new image 150 X 110 and fill with #800000.
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 5 pixels.
Selections > Invert.
Repeat the inner bevel like before.
Selections > None.
Copy the red banner and go back to your card.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the
banner to the bottom right (see screenshot).
Repeat the drop shadow as used before.
Background to white.
Font size at 12.
Now type the next...
Where I set (enter) is for you to give an enter.
Of course you are not going to type that..
Layers > Convert to raster.
Move your text onto your banner.
If all went well you now have this:
Repeat the drop shadow as used before.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Set your card a side for now.
Open a new image 400 X 300 and fill with a nice pastel
(light)matching color. I used #ede2cc but if you started with
another pattern, you may like it better if the colors match!
!!!!Again.... it has to be a light shade of color.
Open the MD-Envelope and copy.
If you want to know how to make this
envelope? All is explained
in
this tutorial.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
No need to move.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Copy the envelope.
Open a new image 500 X 400.
Fill the image with a nice color or pattern.
I used the pattern of this tutorial (in ZIP).
Paste your envelope in your new image.
Move
to the top left.
Repeat the drop shadow as used before.
Go back to your card and copy it.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the card to the bottom right.
Repeat the drop shadow as used before.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Your 007 New Year Card is done.
