* Aim For the Heart Tag*
(PSP all versions - no filters)
A
tutorial by Mar ©2006.

What you need:
PSP
Download a 30 day trial here.
Materials:
Download here.
Open all images from the ZIP in PSP.
Open the font and minimize.
You'll see it in your text tool now.

Save often.
Let's
get started. Good luck.....

Open the MD-Val-Vector.psp template.
Shift-D to duplicate. Close the original.

In your Layer Pallet click on the plus sign (+) at the hearts layer.
You will see a second layer (template). Select that one (gets bold).

Double click the template layer en you will get a new menu.

Now uncheck "Fill" and check "Stroke".
Put your stroke to 3.00 and choose a gold or silver pattern.
I Choose MD-Silverpattern-1.jpg from the ZIP but go
ahead and use any other gold or silver pattern you like best.
Visible and Anti alias checked (=bleu hands).

Texture unchecked (=bleu hand).

In your Layer Pallet convert to raster.

Select the four hearts in the corners (Tolerance 20 - Feather 0).
PSP 7 users have to hold the Ctrl key down.
PSP 8, 9 en 10 users can put their selection tool to add.

Layers > New raster layer.

In your Layer Pallet move this layer one position down.
Rename the layer to fills.
This layer has to be beneath the hearts layer. Select it (=bleu)/

Selections > Modify > Expand with 1 pixel.

Fill these 4 hearts with a color of your choice. I used #c53b3b.

Effects > 3D-effecta > Inner bevel > Color white.

Selections > None.

Go back to the top layer "hearts" and select it (=bleu).

This time select the hearts with the double line (see screenshot above).

Select your fills layer (=bleu).

Selections > Modify > Expand with 1 pixel.

Fill the selections with another color. I used #255887.

Repeat the inner bevel like before.

Selections > None.

If all went well you must have this now:

Go back to your top layer (hearts).

This time select the 4 large hearts.

Go back to your fills layer (= bleu).

Selections > Modify > Expand with 1 pixel.

Fill the hearts with a silver or gold pattern of your choice.
I used the same pattern as the outlines of this tag.

Repeat the inner bevel like before.

Selections > None.

Select your layer "Hearts" (= bleu).

Open the MD-diamond.psp.psp and copy.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

Move the diamond to the middle of one of the small hearts.

Repeat this paste and move step 7 times and put a diamond on each heart.
You can also duplicate, mirror and/or flip.

If all went well you must have this now:

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Open the MD-Gem-Heart.psp and copy.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

If you use other colors as I did, you have to colorize your heart so it matches.

Move the gem heart up on the left upper heart (filled with the pattern).

Layers > Duplicate.
layers > Mirror.
Layers > Duplicate.
Layers > Flip.
Layers > Duplicate.
Layers > Mirror.

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Open the MD-diamond2.psp and copy.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

Move this diamond on top of the circles.

Repeat the paste and move steps until all circles are filled.

If all went well you must have this now:

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Adjust > Sharpen > Sharpen.

Layers > New raster layer.
In your layer pallet, move this layer all the
way down.

Fill this layer with a nice background pattern.
The reason I waited to do this step is now you have all hearts in
your tag colored, you better see what background matches best.
I used MD-valbkgtile.jpg (in the ZIP).

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Click and look for the opened AC3-Heart2. It's in the ZIP.
Size 28 > Stroke 0,0 > B for Bold > Anti-alias checked or Sharp.

Type your text. All letters has to be capitals.
It depends on the length of your text if you need to adjust the font size.

Type your text word by word and convert after each
word so you can move the words afterwards.

So after each word you typed:
Convert to raster.
Adjust > Sharpen > Sharpen.

At each word:
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.

If are satisfied with your text, merge all layers flatten.

Image >Add borders > 10 Pixels > Black.

Select your black border with your magic wand.
Fill the selection with a color from your tag. I used #c53b3b.

Repeat the inner bevel like before.

Your "Aim for the Heart" Tag is done.
I hope you like this tutorial and learned some new things.
