Let's get started. Have fun
on cloud 9.....
This tutorial is done in PSP 9.
Open a new image 400 X 400 >
Transparent.
Foreground to #2db0fe.
Background to #8fd5fe.
Foreground to gradient.
Look for the fore-back gradient.
Style > Linear.
Texture unchecked (= blue hand).
Fill your image with the
gradient.
Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Mirror.
The opacity of this layer to 50.
Your Layer Palette looks like this:
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Open the MD-Heart-Base.psp that was made by me and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a
new layer.
No need to move, it is in the right spot.
If all went well you now have this.
Open the MD-Clouds.psp.
All clouds are on a separate layer so click
them to select.
Copy and paste. Go puzzle to fill the white area.
Start with the large clouds. So:
Copy the clouds one by one.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the clouds in place. On the white only!
Puzzle until all the white spots of your heart are with clouds.
It has to look something like this:
As you can see I used the transparent (on the sheet too)
clouds on the inside of the heart. Take a good look.
Open the MD-Cupids-1.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
this Cupids to the top left as shown.
Open the MD-Cupids-2.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
this Cupids to the top right as shown.
Open the MD-Cupids-3.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
this Cupids
to middle at the bottom as shown.
Because these Cupids are standing
on clouds I have put two small
clouds partially over their feet. Now it really looks like they are
floating a bit.
If all is to your liking:
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Open the MD-Hearts.psp and copy the bow.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the bow to the tip of the heart (see screenshot).
Now copy some hearts and decorate your clouds.
Not to much. Make some groups.
This is how I did it:
Foreground locked and background to #c1241a.
Click
and look for the opened SheerGrace font. It's in the ZIP.
Size 36 > Stroke 0,0 >
B for Bold > Anti-alias Checked or Sharp.
Type your text.
I used "I am always sitting on cloud nine with you".
But of course every other text of your own will do too.
Maybe you have to adjust the size
of the font if you use another text.
Layers > Convert to raster.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.
Open the MD-Cupids-3.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
this
little Cupid somewhere near your text.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Add borders > 2 Pixels >
Symmetric > Color #c1241a.
Add borders > 2 Pixels >
Symmetric > Color #2db0fe.
Add borders > 2 Pixels >
Symmetric > Color #c1241a.
In your Layer Palette duplicate
this layer 2 times.
You now have 3 layers. Select the
top layer (= blue).
With your magic wand
(feather 0) the 5 pixel border.
Adjust > Noise add/.... > Add noise.
Repeat on layer 2 and 3 but
change the
amount to 30 (layer 2) and 40 (layer 3).
Save your image as cloud9.psp.
PSP 7 users can just save as.
PSP 8 - 9 and 10 users......
Because Animation Shop doesn't
recognize *.pspimage you have to save as *.psp.
This can be done in 2 different ways:
Use this one for all early 8 and 9 versions.
Animation Shop doesn't recognize *.pspimage from
PSP 8 and 9 so we save as a PSP 6 or 7 file. Do it like this:
Save as > Click options and save as a *.PSP 6 or 7 compatible file.
Use this method for the latest versions.
The latest PSP 9 and all PSP X versions have the
option to
directly save as PSP for Animation Shop.
Look in the pull down menu and select Animation Shop (*psp).
Open your cloud9.psp in Animation Shop (AS)
.
You have
3 frames. Zoom in and out again.
People asked me how to zoom in and out. I always use the plus
(+) and
minus (-) key on the number pad of my keyboard. So now you see them.
Click Ctrl-A to select all 3 frames.
Animation > Properties for frame > Set your frame
time at 50.
Click
to play your animation.
Save your animation as a GIF.
Your Cloud 9 Tag is done.
I hope you like this tutorial and learned some
new things about PSP and Animation Shop.
