Underwater Tag
(PSP all versions - no filters)

What you need........
PSP 8. Download a 30
day trial here.
The ZIP with the materials
: Download here.
Unzip the materials and open in PSP.
You need some knowledge of PSP for this tutorial.

The mermaid tube I used in this tutorial, is a gift from BJ Haven.
We all
have her permission to use this gorgeous mermaid.

Let's start..... Good luck!!

Part 1

Open a new image 500 X 300 > Transparent

Open the  MD-water.psp and copy. 
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
With place the water a little to the right.
Rename this layer "Water".

Open the  MD-Coral.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move a little to the right side.
Rename into "Coral".

Rename raster layer 1 to BG. If you like fill with a pattern or color.

Activate your layer "Water" (= blue).

Open  MD-Seahorse.psp in PSP.
You will see it contains 3 layers.
Copy layer Seahorse-1.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Rename to Seahorse-1.
Place on the right bottom see my screenshot.

Go back to MD-Seahorse.psp.
Copy layer Seahorse-2.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Rename to Seahorse-2.
With place exactly over your first seahorse.

Repeat these steps with seahorse 3.
Rename this layer to Seahorse-3.

You will have 3 seahorses on top of each other.

Your Layer Palette must look like this.

Open the MD-Fish-1.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move behind the coral on the right you only have
to see his head. See screenshot. Rename to Fish-1.

 Open the MD-Fish-2.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move behind the coral on the left side.
You have to see only the head. See screenshot.
Rename to Fish-2.

 Open the MD-Fish-3.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move to the left middle so it looks like the fish
eats from the seaweed. See screenshot.
Rename to Fish-3.

Layer Palette > Duplicate.
Image > Mirror.
Close your coral layer for now and move
the mirrored fish head to head with Fish -3 .
Rename to Fish-4. Open your coral layer again.

Open the MD-bubbles.psp, MD-bubbles-2.psp and  MD-bubbles-3.psp.
Copy one by one as a new layer.
Move to 3 different spots, see screenshot.

Now open the lovely tube (donated by BJ) BJ-mermaid.psp and copy.
Make sure your coral layer is activated (=blue).
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

Move the mermaid to the left over the coral.
The little hand still  has to be on the canvas (see screenshot).

Close all layers except the mermaid and coral layer (the 2 top layers).

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Open all layers.
Rename your merged layer again to "Coral".

Save this file as "Underwater-basis.psp".
You can use it later with another text.

Activate your coral layer (= blue).

Foreground color #FF0000 Background color #EBB739.

Click  and choose a plain font.
I used Calligrapher. It's in the ZIP.
B for Bold > size 30 > Stroke 1,0 > Anti-alias checked.

If you use another font, you might have to adjust the size.

Layers > Convert to raster.
Rename to : Text.
If you make a second line rename to Text -2.

Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel (color white).

Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow.

Type your next lines if you like and repeat
the inner bevel and drop shadow.

Move your text into place.

Close the layers like in the screenshot.
Make sure you're always on an open layers to merge visible.

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Save as underwater-1.psp.

Edit > Undo or use left arrow.

Open all your layers, and lock these:

Click on the left fish (Fish-2) move to the right.

Make sure you see it all.

The same thing with the other fish (Fish-1).
Leave a little piece of the tail behind the coral.

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Save as underwater-2.psp.

Edit  > Undo

Open all layers and close these:

Move the two fishes even more to the middle.
Move the bubbles up (see screenshot).

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Save as underwater-3.psp.

Edit  > Undo

Open all layers and lock these:

Move your fishes a bit over the middle point.
Move the bubbles up (see screenshot).

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Save as underwater-4.psp.

Edit  > Undo

Open all layers and close these:

Again move the fishes and move the bubbles up (screenshot).

Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Save as underwater-5.psp.

Edit  > Undo

Open all layers and close these:

The last steps. Look at the example below.
The left fish has only his tail into view but his
 head is hanging over. Select with lasso tool

the fish head and hit delete.
Fish 2 has only his tail visible. With move the Bubble-3 layer
to the bottom next to the seahorse. 
Bubble-1 layer (big bubble) move to the top.

Check all the yellow hands and don't forget a step.

Selections >
None. 
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.

Save as underwater-6.psp.

Your preparations are finished.
We will start to make the animation now.
