What you need:
PSP. Download a 30
day trial here.
ZIP with materials: Download here.
Open all Images from the ZIP in PSP.
Save often.
Let's go. Good luck.....
Open Crossword.psp from the ZIP.
Shift-D to duplicate. Close the original.
Want other empty crossword pages?Look here.
Notice, there are no selections on those pages.
You will have to resize and add a selection yourself.
There is also a colored crossword template in the ZIP.
Use your own colorful tubes to make that a funny
tag.
Selections > Selections load/save > Selection load from alpha channel.
There is only 1 selection saved so click load.
Fill the selection with black.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 5 pixels.
Open the cartoon doggies from the ZIP.
Make a choice and copy that one.
Go back to your crossword tag.
Edit > Paste > Paste into selection.
Selections > Select none.
Layers > Merge > Merge all layers flatten.
Add borders > 10 Pixels > Symmetric > Color black.
Add borders > 10 Pixels > Symmetric > Color red.
Add borders > 20 Pixels > Symmetric > Color black.
Select (feather 0 - tolerance 20) the last black border.
Foreground to pattern and look for the Checkers-small.jpg.
Fill your selection with the checkers pattern.
Selections > Select none.
Add borders > 5 Pixels > Symmetric > Color black.
Add borders > 5 Pixels > Symmetric > Color red.
Now copy your tag.
Open a new image 400 X 400.
Select > Select all.
Edit > Paste > Paste into selection.
Selections > Select none.
Adjust > Sharpen > Sharpen.
Our base is done. Now comes the hard work LOL.
Click
and look for the Arial Font (default Windows font).
Settings like this: Vector > Size 20 >
Stroke 0.0 >
B for Bold > Align: center. Anti-alias 'Sharp' or checked.
Type all in capitals. Type the letter P.
In your Layer Palette convert to raster (PSP 7, 8 & 9).
Move the P to a place with 3 spots.
Now type the letter S. Convert to raster.
Move the S to the second spot.
Type another P or copy your first one and paste it.
Put the letters in their place.
Take a good look at all the open spaces and see if any PSP text fits.
Look at the examples below or make your own crossword tag.
See if you can also fit in your name somewhere.
Try to align the letters as much as possible.
This tutorial can be used to make different tags like birthday
or welcome tags. I have some examples below but it is much nicer
to make your own. Use your fantasy and your imagination.
Your Crossword Tag is done.
