What you need:
PSP. Download a 30
day trial here.
Materials: Download here
(very large - 1.062 Mb).
Open all images
from the ZIP in PSP and make a choice. Open the font and minimize.
You'll see it in your text tool now.
Let's get started..... Save often.
Have fun and good luck.....
This tutorial is done in PSP9.
The last couple of weeks I tried to make some easy Frame and
Tag tutorials since I received lot's of mail asking me to consider
the new PSP users. So again..... an easy to do Tag tutorial.
Open a new image 400 X 400 and fill with #3e1b11.
Open the MD-Stripes.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
It is in the right place so no need to move.
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Open the MD-Waitress.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the girl as much to the left as possible.
Her feet must fall of the image (see screenshot).
Open one of the bars from the ZIP and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the bar down beneath the girls hips.
Take a look at the screenshot below.
Open the MD-BarStool.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the barstools in front of the bar.
If all went well you have something like this:
Open a new image 200 X 150 and fill with #3e1b11.
Copy the image and go back to your Ice-Cream Parlor Tag.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the board on the right side of the wall.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop
shadow > Color black.
Open the MD-Hanger.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the hanger at the middle of the board on the wall.
In your Layer Palette, move the hanger one position down so
it will be behind the board. Move it a little down so the nail is
just
above the board. Take a good look at the screenshot below:
Open a new image 150 X 75 and fill with #3e1b11.
Copy the image and go back to your Ice-Cream Parlor Tag.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the board next to the first on the wall.
Repeat the drop shadow like before.
Again, copy the MD-Hanger.psp.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move this one like you did with the first board
and put it in your Layer Palette one level down.
Lock the layers with the girl, the bar, the barstools
and the background (in total 4 layers to lock).
Make sure to align the top of both boards.
See the pink line I have put in the screenshot below.
Select the top layer (=blue).
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Unlock all layers.
Move the merged boards in your Layer Palette
down until it is behind the girl. If all is well, that
would be the first layer up from the bottom.
Now you have something like this:
Before you start with the text, move the girl a little
down so the text will fit on the board above her head.
If you are satisfied:
Layers > Merge > Merge visible layers.
Foreground locked and background to #ffb63b.
Click
and look for the opened BattleLines font. That's in the ZIP.
Size 18 > Stroke 0,0 >
B for Bold > Anti-alias checked or Sharp.
Make sure the alignment is set to center.
Now type your text.
I used:
h__t summer(enter) icecream parlor
__ stands for two space's.
No Capitals needed.
This font does it all by itself.
Don't put a dash in IceCream.
Logo's are allowed to be different.
Layers > Convert
to raster.
Move this text (or a text of your own) on the left
board.
Open the MD-LogoSun.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move the sun in your text where you left room by
typing two spaces.
Maybe you need to reduce the sun's size a little bit with 85
or 75%.
Background to white.
Foreground still locked.
Change the size of your text to 12. Click on the B
for Bold.
If all is well you don't have a bold letter anymore.
Now type:
new flavors of the month
No capitals needed.
This font does it all in it's own way.
Layers > Convert
to raster.
Move the text to the top of the right hanging board.
Now it is up to you to use your imagination.
Decorate the board with your own favorite ice creams.
They are all in the ZIP. Make a nice board.
Some of the ice creams need to be reduced in size by 75%.
Don't forget to sharpen after resizing.
Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen.
Use a yellow (#ffb63b) text to put in some flavors.
Make sure the top layer is selected (= blue).
Open the MD-OldPhone.psp and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Put the old phone on the bar.
If you are satisfied:
Layers > Merge > Merge flatten.
Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Color
#ffb63b.
Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Color#3e1b11.
Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Color
#76502c.
Image > Add borders > 2 Pixels > Color
#ffb63b.
Your Ice-Cream Parlor Tag is done.
