What you need:
PSP. Download a 30
day trial here.
Materials: Download
here.
Open all images from the ZIP in PSP.
Open the font and minimize.
You'll see it in your text tool now.
Save often.
Let's get started. Good luck.....
Open a new image 400 X
400 and fill with black.
Layers > New raster layer.
Foreground to pattern.
Look for the opened MD-gold-4.jpg.
Texture unchecked (= bleu hand).
Fill your image with the gold.
You can also use a nice gradient.
Look at my examples below this tutorial.
Open the MD-CenturyMask.jpg.
Layers > New mask layer > From image.
Look for the MD-CenturyMask.jpg.
Layers > Merge > Merge group.
Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen.
Open MD-GoldRaster.psp and copy.
Go back to your tag:
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move
the raster
lines over the mask lines and make
sure the horizontal lines are as on the screenshot below.
Open and copy the MD-Discograph.psp.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move the gramophone as on the screenshot below.
Not to much on the edge since we are going
to add a border when the base is finished.
Open and copy the MD-Discograph-2.psp.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Place as on the screenshot below.
Foreground locked.
Background to the gold pattern.
Click
and look for the opened Butterbelly font. That's in the ZIP.
Size 26 > Stroke 0,0 >
B for Bold > Anti-alias checked or Sharp.
Make sure your alignment is set to center.
Type your text in capitals.
I used:
20TH CENTURY
CENTURY OF MUSIC.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen.
Layers > New raster layer.
Fill this layer with the gold pattern.
Selections >
Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 pixels.
Click delete to remove the middle.
Fill the selection with black.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 pixels.
Fill the selection with the gold pattern.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 pixels.
Click delete to remove the middle.
If all went well you have 2 gold and 1 black
border.
Selections > Invert.
Effects > Reflection effects > Kaleidoscope.
Layers > New raster layer.
Fill this layer with black.
Selections >
Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 pixels.
Click delete to remove the middle.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 6 pixels.
Again, fill with black.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 3 pixels.
Click delete to remove the middle.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Image > Add borders > 25 Pixels >
Black.
Image > Add borders > 3 Pixels > Yellow.
With your Magic Wand
(Feather 0) select the yellow border.
Fill the selection with the gold pattern.
Now let's make a nice frame.
Click
and look for the opened Borderbats Fillegree font. That's in the ZIP.
Size 48 > Stroke 0,0 >
B for Bold > Anti-alias checked or Sharp.
It is possible that you have to adjust the size of the font.
Type 5 times the small letter v (under cast).
Apply.
Layers > Convert to raster.
In your Layer Palette rename this layer to "Border".
Move
the border in the middle at the bottom.
Maybe it isn't exactly the middle but we will deal with that later.
Now type a small letter q (under cast).
Layers > Convert to raster.
Zoom in a lot.
Move
the corner in the left bottom corner.
Do this very precisely.
Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Mirror.
Take a close look if the border and the corners connect
If not, this is the time to move them all in place.
Make sure you have the right corner
selected in your Layer Palette (=blue)
Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Flip.
Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Mirror.
In your Layer Palette select the layer "Border" (=blue).
Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Flip.
If all went well it fits exactly between the corners.
Zoom in again and put this border
at the left side between the corners.
Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Mirror.
Layers > Merge > Merge flatten.
Your 20th Century Tag is done.
