Gold Frame
A tutorial by Mar ©2003

What you need is in this zip.
Open the mask.frame and mask.corner in PSP.
Put the 4 bmp files in  your folder Patterns in PSP.
The parel.psp and the glass.psp you can open in
PSP
. You can export them to your picture tube.

Save often!
Let's get started..... good luck!

Open new image 350 X 350
> Transparent.
Layers > New raster layer.
Fill with Leather-brown pattern.



Layers > New raster layer.
Fill with MD-Gold-3.bmp pattern.

Open the Mask-frame.jpg file.
Maskers > 
New > From image.

Click  this window and choose Mask-frame.jpg.
These settings.  Apply.



Maskers >
Delete > Click yes.

New image 350 X 350 > Transparent.
Fill with MD-Gold.

Repeat the step with the mask. If you delete the mask,
copy and paste over your first frame.
 If all goes right it fits exactly on your first frame.

You can close your other image, we don't need it anymore.

Put the glasses   on the bottom two layers in your layer palette



Stand on layer 4 (blue).
Merge > Merge visible layers

Take your selection tool    get circle.



Move with your cursor till you reach point
175, 175 and click.


Draw the circle (top left) until you reach point first value's:


Layers > New raster layer.
Open your image or use this one:


Auteur unknown

You work best with a square picture because
 it will be pasted in the circle.

rop    if you need to!  Copy/.
Edit >
Paste > Paste into selection.
Move layer( 5)
below your merged layer (frame).

Keep selected.

New layer.
Selections > 
Modify > Contract 5.
Open the glass.psp and copy.
Edit >
Paste > Paste into selection.
Selections >
None.

Background color at #F5E17E.
Image
> Add borders > 5 Pixels.



Select    the border.
Fill with MD-Gold pattern.

Effects > 3D effects > Inner bevel > Settings groove.
Effects > 3D effects >
Drop shadow.



Repeat with horiz. and vert. on - 3.

Background color black
.
F
oreground to pattern > Leather-tan.



Image > Add borders > 15 Pixels.
Select the black edge.
Fill with Leather-tan pattern.
Selections >
None
Open the Mask-corner.jpg file.
New image 100 X 100 transparent.
Fill with MD-Gold pattern
Masks >
New > From image> Mask-corner.jpg.
Mask delete.
Copy.

You can close the gold corner now.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move into place. Start top left.

Effects > 3D effects >
Drop shadow.
Settings as above but  
Horiz. and Vert. at 2.

In your layer palette put the glasses   on your background.

Layers > Duplicate.
Image >
Mirror.
Edit > Merge > Merge visible.

Duplicate this merged layer.
Image >
Flip.
Unlock your background.

If all is right your background is still black.
Image > Add borders > 5 Pixels.
Click yes if asking do you want to merge.
Select the black border.
Fill withMD-Gold pattern.

Effects > 3D effects > Inner bevel as before.
Effects > 3D effects >
Drop shadow 2 en - 2.
Selections >
None.

Image > Add borders > 15 Pixels.
Click yes at the question merge.
Select the border.
Fill with Leather-brown.

Selections > None
Background color #F5E17E.

Add borders
> 5 Pixels.
Select the yellow border.
Fill with MD-Gold pat
tern.

Effects > 3D effects > Inner bevel same settings.
Repeat the drop shadow 2 en -2.

Open  Parel.psp.
Image > Resize 60%.
Effects > 
Sharpen > Sharpen.
Copy and paste as a new layer.

Move into place and repeat as many times as you like.
One uses a few, another wants a bunch,
Satisfied?
Edit > Merge > Merge all flatten
Your size is now 395 X 395.
For use in a stationery, you better resize!

Image > Resize to 75%.
Effects > 
Sharpen > Sharpen.

Ready!! I hope you had fun.

Tip...... use some other fillings.
Uleads Art-texture or Sculpture on your mask,
it's under textures  in PSP if you don't want to use a filter.
 You get a whole different effect.
Adjust your frame to any picture you like.
