Spring Frame
(PSP 8 and up)

The materials: Download here.
Open all images from the ZIP in PSP.

Save often.
Let's

This tutorial is done in PSP 9.

Open a new image 400 X 500 > Transparent.

Open de MD-SpringPattern-1.jpg from the ZIP.

Foreground to pattern and look for the MD-SpringPattern-1.jpg.
Texture unchecked (= blue hand).


Fill your image with the pattern.

Effects > 3D-effects > Buttonize > Color #808000.

Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 25 pixels.

Selections > Modify > Select selection borders > 10 Pixels.

Layers > New raster layer.

Open de MD-SpringPattern-2.jpg from the ZIP.

Foreground to pattern and look for the MD-SpringPattern-2.jpg.
Texture unchecked (= blue hand).

Fill your new layer with the sea-green pattern.

Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel > Color white.

Selections > None.

Lock your background for now.

With your magic wand (feather 0 - tolerance 25) select the middle part.

Selections > Modify > Expand with 4 pixels.

Unlock the bottom layer and select it (= blue).

Copy the image you want to use.
Go back to your frame.

Edit > Paste > Paste into selection.

Repeat the 3D effect "Buttonize".

You still have to be on the bottom layer (= blue).

Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 25 pixels.

Selections > Invert.

Effects > Geometric effects > Perspective - Horizontal > Color Red.

Selections > None.

With your magic wand (feather 0) select the red parts.
To select all at once, hold down your Shift-key.

Fill the selected parts with the sea-green pattern.

Repeat the inner bevel as before.

Selections > None.

Layers > Merge > Merge flatten.

Open the MD-StitchBorder.psp and copy.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
The border is in the right spot so no need to move.

Open the MD-CrossStitch.psp and copy.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

With move the cross stitches on the small yellow spot.

If all went well you now have this:

Open the MD-GreenStitch.psp and copy.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move the green stitch border left on the yellow piece.

Open the MD-Yellow-Rose.psp and copy.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

Move the rose on top of the beginning of the crosses.

Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.

Layers > Duplicate.

Image > Flip.

Open the MD-Butterfly.psp and copy.

Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.

Move the butterfly in the left upper corner.

Repeat the drop shadow as before.

Layers > Merge > Merge flatten.

Your Spring Frame is done.
