To get things well-organized I have made
series of the 4 theme's.
Everything that starts with a 1 belongs together.
Everything that starts with a two n 2 belongs together.
And so on, and so on. There is a Christmas series too.
Open one of the 4 "MD-Powerful" patterns.
Number 4 is a part of the Xmas series.
Take a look beneath this tutorials to see the Christmas frame.
Everything for the Christmas series is in
a separate ZIP.
Shift-D to duplicate.
Close the original.
Layers > Promote background to layer.
Open the largest of the two gold frames (MD-Gold-1.psp) and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
If you think you won't have enough space at the bottom
You can put this layer a little bit up. Don't move side wards.
With your magic wand
(feather 0
- tolerance 50).
click in the middle of the gold frame.
Selections > Modify >
Expand with 5 pixels.
Select the bottom (promoted from background) layer (=blue).
Click "Delete".
Selections > Modify >
Expand with 20 pixels.
Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel.
Pick a color
from the background layer.
I used #009daa for mine.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.
Repeat the drop shadow but this
time Vert. and Horiz. at - 2.
Selections > None.
Select the top layer (= blue).
Open the small gold frame (MD-Gold-2.psp) and copy.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
With
put the second frame like on the screenshot below.
Keep enough space at the right and the bottom for
another inner bevel and 20 pixels drop shadow.
With your magic wand
click in the middle of the small frame.
Selections > Modify >
Expand with 5 pixels.
Select the bottom (promoted from background) layer (=blue).
Click "Delete".
Selections > Modify >
Expand with 20 pixels.
Repeat the inner bevel and the drop shadow at 2 and at - 2.
Selections > None.
With your lasso tool
select the shadow that fall in the big frame.
No need to worry about the golden frames since you
are going to delete at the bottom (background) layer.
You are still on the bottom layer (=blue).
Click "Delete".
Selections > None.
If all is well you now have something lake this:
Open the second background.
That is the "MD-Powerful" pattern with the -a behind the name.
So I will need to open the MD-Powerful-1a.jpg for this tutorial.
You can also use the pretty MD-Gold-3.psp.
Copy the pattern of your choice.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
Move this layer all the way down In your Layer Palette.
Move
behind the openings.
If all is well you now have this:
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Now open a series of flowers. If you used the MD-Powerful-1.jpg
use the MD-Floral series 1. for de Powerful-2 .jpg
use the MD-Floral-2.psp and so on, and so on.
There is also a Christmas series.
The flowers are indicate with a-b-c- and d per series.
Some have only two or more in their series, other have up to 10.
Use a drop shadow if you like. I didn't us it.
Open the flowers, copy them and paste as a new layer.
Be creative and decorate your frame to your likening.
My frame looks like this.
Open one of the banners and copy it.
Again, the banners are numbered as the backgrounds and
flowers. So banner 1 belongs to background 1 and so on.
Edit > Paste > Paste as a new layer.
With
put it at the left side of your frame.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with
10 pixels.
Selections > Invert.
Repeat the inner bevel and the drop shadow at 2 and at - 2.
Selections > None.
Your Powerful Frame is done.
