What you need:
PSP. Download a 30
day trial here.
The materials: Download here.
Open all images from the ZIP in PSP.
The VM Instant art filter: Download here.
Extract the filter in your plugin folder in PSP.
Close end restart PSP otherwise your filter won't work.
Open the font and minimize.
You will see it in your text tool now.
Save often.
Let's go. Good luck.....
Open a new image 400 X 400 > Transparent.
Fill with black.
Effects > Plugins > VM Instant Art > Wired.
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 25 pixels.
Selections > Invert.
Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel > Color white.
Selections > Select all.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 25 pixels.
Open the MD-Silver.bmp from the ZIP.
Foreground to pattern and look for the silver.
Fill the selection with the silver pattern.
Effects > 3D effects > Drop shadow > Color black.
Repeat the drop shadow but this time Vert. and Horiz. at - 5.
Selections > Modify > Contract with 10 pixels.
Click delete and fill the selection with black.
Effects > Plugins > VM Instant Art > Wired.
Repeat the drop shadow at 5 and - 5.
Lock your background color.
Foreground to silver pattern.
Click
and look for the opened KunstlerschreibschD. It's in the ZIP.
Size 300 > Stroke 2,0 >
B for Bold > Anti-alias checked.
Type a capital E if you use an Elvis image.
When you use another black and white image, choose a matching letter.
For instance....... the D for Doris Day and the F for Fats Domino.
With pull your letter till it fits the inner part of the frame.
In your Layer Pallet convert to raster.
Repeat the drop shadow at - 5.
Put the layer modus to 'Soft light'.
Open the MD-Elvis.psp from the ZIP or use a
black and white tube of your own and copy.
Give the tube a drop shadow at 5 and - 5.
Foreground to black.
Background to silver pattern.
Again click the text tool and look for the opened Elvis font. It's in the ZIP.
Size 48 > Stroke 1,0 > Directions: Down (blue hand) > Kerning - 255.
Can't find Kerning?.... Click one of the black arrows (red hand).
These settings are only suggestive.
When you use another name.... the settings won't match anymore.
Play a little with the settings till you're satisfied.
In your Layer Pallet convert to raster.
Give the text a drop shadow at 5.
Move the text on the grey surface (see sample below).
Layers > Merge > Merge all layers flatten.
Your 50's Frame is done.
