Let's go. Good luck.....
A lot of people that have about the same age as me (grin), have those old photo's
somewhere in a box or if your parents could afford it, in an old album that lived
most of it's life in the attic or in a cabinet drawer. They make you smile when you
look them over once in those many years. For those photo's I made this tutorial.
........ Memories............ Everybody has their own. The photo's I used are mine.
Are your photo's colored or black & white but you want the brown effect??........
Effects > Artistic effects > Sepia.
Since not every monitor or video card in a PC has the same sepia hue,
I added some different patterns in different color tones to match the
most general sepia range. Look for yourself what fits best with yours.
Open a new image 320 X 200 or 200 X 320, transparent.
For a square photo use 300 X 300. Some shorter... 320 X 250.
Play with the canvas size and see what is best for your photo.
Whatever size....... never exceed 320 as the largest size.
See what size fit best for your photo (-s).
Select > Select all.
With crop the original photo.
Don't leave any black or white edges. That looks so sloppy.
Copy your photo and close the original. If you changed anything, maybe
it's best not to save. We don't want it to be messed with right?
Back to your empty frame.
Edit > Paste > Past into selection.
If the outcome makes you to fat/small or to thin/long....
Start over and change. See what size is best.
Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten.
Add borders > 5 Pixels > Color red > Symmetric.
With select the red border (feather 0, tolerance 20).
Open the 2 patterns that fits best with the color of your photo.
One with the diamond pattern and one glossy pattern.
Foreground and background to pattern.
Look for the 2 patterns you want to use.
Foreground for glossy and background for diamond pattern.
I used MD-Memories-2.psp and MD-Memories-1-gld.psp.
Now put your foreground to color: #4e3e2f.
My menu looks like this.
We will start with the color.
Fill the selection with #4e3e2f.
Effects > 3D-effects > Drop shadow > Black.
Repeat drop shadow but this time Horiz. and Vert. at - 2.
Add borders > 20 Pixels > Color red > Symmetric.
Select the red border with your magic wand.
Fill with your right mouse button..... the diamond pattern.
Add borders > 5 Pixels > Color red > Symmetric.
Select the red border and fill with #4e3e2f.
Repeat the drop shadow at 2 and - 2.
Add borders > 20 Pixels > Color red > Symmetric.
Select the red border with your magic wand.
Foreground to the glossy pattern and fill the selection.
Effects > Plugins > VM Toolbox > Instant Tile.
Apply.
Add borders > 10 Pixels > Color red > Symmetric.
Select the red border with your magic wand.
Again foreground to #4e3e2fen and fill the selection.
Effects > 3D-effects > Inner bevel > White.
Repeat the drop shadow at 2 and - 2.
Now open the MD-Memoriescorner1.psp, the MD-Memoriescorner2.psp
or the MD-Memoriesbanner.psp. Decorate your frame as you like.
At the bottom are two samples but please do what ever you like best.
Give your corners or banner a drop shadow as before but
change the Vert. and Horiz. to 1 in stead of 2.
I am not going into details on how to duplicate, mirror or flip your corners.
We all know that by now. If you don't, see at the bottom of this tut..
Have fun with your frame and memories!!!
Your Memories Frame is done.
Isn't this a nice way to remember and play with the past?
I hope you like this tutorial.
Thanks for trying my tuts.
Here I was about 11 months old. I wish I remembered lol.
The size for this photo was 200 X 275.
I colorized the corners: 30 - 35.
